I know it’s cliche, but it feels like yesterday that Steve and I were exchanging vows in front of our family and friends. I vividly remember the entire day, and how calm (seriously) I was. I made a million memories to last a lifetime! My favorite, though, was our first look.
From the very beginning of wedding planning, I was completely against seeing Steve before walking down that aisle. He wanted to enjoy cocktail hour, and I just wanted to keep with tradition. The further we got into planning, and the more photographers we met with, taking a first look photo began to seem like the better option.
I’m really glad I ended up caving, because the moment made for a great batch of pictures to look back on. We were laughing the entire time I was walking towards him, and you can see the fun we were having together. Certainly a great moment to reflect on today!
For those of you following along, you’ve probably realized that I enjoy a good wedding photo. Let’s be honest, I never thought twice about weddings, and bridal looks until it was time for me to walk down the aisle (almost three years ago!), and ever since, there has been no looking back. The latest look I’m drawn to is Piper Perabo of Coyote Ugly fame!
The actress married director/producer, Stephen Kay, this past weekend in NYC, and the actress clearly wanted nothing to do with being a traditional bride! The photos that are currently circulating the internet show her ecstatic, donning a yellow veil, and what looks to be a silver textured form fitting gown. Not to mention she’s grasping a gorgeous bouquet to top off this one-of-a-kind, only-a-celeb-can-pull-off look!
When you look back at the career of the Olsen Twins, who would have thought that the duo who put their brother up for sale in one of their straight to videos would be fashion icons? They started small, with a pre-tween line in Wal-Mart, then moved their way up to high-end with their lines like Elizabeth and James and The Row, both sold at high-end retail stores like Bergdorf Goodman.
The mini-moguls are expanding their empire, and adding wedding gowns to their resumes! The first images were released this weekend of the gown they designed for friend Molly Fishkin. The gown oozes Mary Kate + Ashley, with boho-chic inspired lace, and flared sleeves.
No word yet as to if the girls are planning a wedding line, but given this gown, it’s something worth considering!
I love Nicole Richie. I think she’s cute, funny, fashionable, and an overall inspiration. She is one of my main style icons. But I’m not gonna lie, folks. I’m not a fan of this purple hair thing she has going on. I’m all for hair experimenting, because it’s never permanent; it grows back, you can always dye it again, get extensions, whatever. Non-hair color hues are just not for me, but she does wear the color well.
