My Favorite Looks From 2016 Awards Season

The 2016 Awards Season officially ended last week with the Academy Awards.  It feels like the entire season was a blur of tulle, silk, and lace. Let’s take a stroll down memory lane of my favorite looks from this season’s red carpet!

2016 Grammys: My Favorite Looks

Last night, the 58th annual Grammy Awards took place (on a Monday night), which continued the slew of red carpet glam this awards season. To be honest, I was a bit underwhelmed with the choices, but do have a few faves!

Carrie Underwood

Starting this out with one of my red carpet all-stars, Carrie Underwood! She looked flawless as usual in this Nicolas Jebran gown, featuring a slit that could make even Angelina Jolie blush!

Kaley Cuoco

Another red carpet pro who nails it every time, Kaley Cucoco switched things up with a cut-out sparkly jumpsuit by Naeem Khan.

Bella Hadid

The “other Hadid” who also happens to be a supermodel (good genes!) rocked this skin-tight cutout sparkler by Alexandre Vauthier.

Gulianna Rancic

Again, my favorites were killing it last night!  The Fashion Police host looked statuesque in this gold gown.

Nicole Trunfio

I guess it’s not fair that she’s a model, but this Zuhair Murad jumpsuit was made for Trunfio!

Grammys 2015: Rihanna’s Dress + Madonna’s Mess

In my opinion, the Grammys aren’t what they used to be, but the red carpet fashion is always worth tuning in for.  As always, there were some hits, misses and disasters. My favorite red carpet look this year comes from Rihanna, wearing a very feminine Giambattista Valli:

This dress encompasses two of the things I love most: pink and fluff!  I personally love when Rihanna, who is queen of edge, shows off a softer, more feminine side, and you can totally tell she’s loving it! Check out these pics from last night of her twirling and smiling:

My least favorite look of the night comes from Madonna, and here’s why:

Tulle Me About It

Does anyone else ever get the urge to just drown in a sea of tulle like it’s totally normal?  It’s so fluffy and soft and enticing to just jump into and swim in!

Marilyn Monroe feels the same way:

So does Carrie Bradshaw. She even repurposed the infamous Sex and the City opening scene tutu in the first movie:

Katy Perry just wore lots of it to the Grammys:

Brides like Chrissy Teigen like it:

Vera Wang wants brides to wear it on their head:

Flower girls make it look precious:

I just bought this dress to wear on a cruise to the Bahamas next week:

…And of course, had the opportunity to actually wear my sea of tulle!

Madonna at the Grammys: When Old People Try Too Hard

Growing up Madonna was obviously one of my favorites, but as I started growing up and Madonna started to age, my adoration for her started to dwindle. The last album of hers that I actually liked wasn’t even from this century, and I had to watch her 2012 Super Bowl halftime performance with my hands over my eyes as I was uncomfortable watching a 50-something year old mother of three grinding in the floor and on her backup dancers that are young enough to be her children.

Her appearance at last night’s Grammys just solidified the feelings I’ve been having for the past few years. To see a 55 year old woman smiling wide with grills just makes me cringe. It’s not a good look for kids and it certainly isn’t a good look for someone over half a decade.

2014 Grammys Red Carpet Rodeo

The Grammys are smack in the middle of award season and really allow for the stars to, “let their hair down,” so to speak. There’s always a nice mix of over-the-top get-ups and Hollywood glam, and this year is no different. Here are some conversation starters to bring into work tomorrow!

First off, Katy Perry nailed it, nailed it, nailed it! Not only is this a fully masterpiece of a gown, courtesy of Valentino, but it has musical designs to boot! This is the epitome of the perfect Grammy gown.

Speaking of Katy Perry, this lady, Bonnie McKee, who penned Perry’s “Roar,” brought the glam to the carpet in this blue number with a train.

And speaking of “Roar,” Sara Bareilles looks incredible in this textured high low gown.

I see London, I see France, I see Paris found some class! Check the heiress out looking demure in this all white gown.

Kacey Musgraves is rocking this champaign tiered number like it was made for her and her alone.

Giuliana Rancic was made for the red carpet, whether she’s walking it or interviewing, she always is perfection, even in this bright orange sheer number.

Mrs. John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, looks like a golden mermaid!

The innocent-looking Colbie Callait brought her sexy to the red carpet in this form fitting cut out piece that shows that she’s not that innocent! Sorry guys, it’s hard for me to talk about music and not throw Britney into the mix!

I started out this list with a gown I thought was Grammy perfection, and feel that my last ensemble is another win! Zendaya Coleman looks Grammy-edgy in this sheer black blouse and blue polka dot long dress with a high slit to show off those toned legs.
